Context Background:

The third phase of South Dublin County Council's In Context, 2006 –2009, built on the underpinning principles and learnings gained from the previous two phases of commissioning and was further informed by the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism’s General National Guidelines for delivery of Per Cent for Art Schemes, published in 2004. This project was commissioned under  In Context 3, of which the principle component was to create time for the artists to engage with the context.

Description:

Artist and film maker Enda Mac Nally was commissioned to create short documentary style films about the In Context 3 artists as part of the mediation strand of the programme. The films feature interviews with artists and with Sarah Searson, mediator, and Rachel McAree, programme manager, during the Alight exhibition at RUA RED autumn 2008.

Artist Biography:

Enda Mac Nally graduated from The National College Of Art and Design, Dublin in 2008. His work has been exhibited in The Bargehouse, London; The Sebastian Guinness Gallery, Dublin; The Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery, Dublin;  KT Contemporary, Dublin;  Monster Truck Gallery, dublin; as part of the Darklight and DEAF festivals and as a runner up in The RDS Student Art Awards 2008. His work has also featured on a number of television shows (including The Late Late Show) and has appeared in various print media.

Solo Shows include: Your Pretty Face is Going To Hell(Jan 2010),  MTSL, South William Street, Dublin and The Miserable History Of Human Sediment (Nov 2006), Monster Truck Gallery, Francis Street, Dublin.
