The Council ran an open competition to which a number of artists responded for this and other similar projects in the county. This was funded by the South Dublin County Council Clondalkin Integrated Area Plan.

Description:

Michael Disley was selected to undertake the commission for Collinstown Park based on the style of his sculpture work to date and his approach in working with local communities. Cats and Dogs do Yoga  is an amusing and playful interpretation of animals attempting yoga, created in yellow sandstone and scaled to a child’s size. It is sited at St Mary’s Senior School, while the stone works created during Michael's Disley’s workshops with children are to be sited within the park itself providing a link for the children with this amenity. This was collaborative project between the Arts Office and the Parks and Landscapes Department in South Dublin County Council.
